The thing is, NC is so heavily gerrymandered that it may be considered no longer a democracy. Look, I'm straight up broke-- I can't move. Also, I shouldn't have to. I'm fighting for my state and it really sucks to see people even here, on Bluesky, cheer for me to die for living in a "red" state.

I'm just dismayed by the number of folks still gleefully drinking in the propaganda, who see all of this as a positive. I honestly can't tell if the responses justifying this mess are bots or woefully misinformed people.

Those are the normal temperatures of July and August.... in the South. We have the infrastructure for it, with most homes and businesses having AC. I can't imagine how folk who didn't grow up with that can accommodate that extreme. Iced tea, my friends.

Seriously, gfy. Like folks with ADHD don't face enough discrimination. I'm treated like a suspicious criminal everytime I refill my meds. Most of us aren't looking for a high-- the meds don't even work that way for me. I just want to get through my day with less debilitating hurdles.

See, here's the thing: NC is *not* red. We are one of the most heavily gerrymandered states. We are purple, for sure, but not red. This is going to impact people who have been diligently fighting for this state. These blanket "oh well, they deserve it" sentiments miss the real point.
