Our country is in upheaval but today I was recognized as the Dem of the Year for the Weber County Democrats, so there’s that. We will keep fighting. 💙

In the midst of darkness, today was a bright spot. Meeting @aoc.bsky.social and @sanders.senate.gov in Utah was an absolute dream. I have hope. 💜

This was yesterday at a protest against Blake Moore, our congressman and co-chair of DOGE. About 300 protesters came, more than the attendees who came for Moore’s event. We’ve held multiple rallies since Jan. 20. I assure you, the majority of us didn’t vote for this.

May you have the courage and tenacity to do very hard things, especially when they don’t end the way you had hoped. May you be bold and brave, even though they will call you ‘hostile’ and try to tear you down.

How lucky am I that I was able to attend three rallies in three states this month? DC ➡️ HI ➡️ UT
A friend recently told me she admired my fearlessness. I told her I’m scared every time I speak out, but I don’t have the luxury of being silent.
Stupid? Brave? It’s a fine line between the two.

Flew from ABQ to SLC today in my Rosa Parks shirt. Got a few knowing nods. Small acts of protest. Dreading the next four years. Also posting a pic from DC a year ago. Because the only celebration today is for MLK.

Today I participated in a great panel discussion in partnership with the NAACP, on issues related to education, immigration, and civil rights. We spoke to the feelings of fear for what’s ahead, but we also remain committed to HOPE. I’m honored to be in community with these incredible leaders. 💜

Today a guy in a MAGA hat complimented my hair and I’m kicking myself for not responding with: “Thanks, it’s my Woke Witch of the West villain hair.” 🧙🏽‍♀️
