The one thing listed in this article that does seem sensible is Kent holding off on moving offices if they are in line for LGR but it isn't a saving, it just means that they have a less valuable asset to get rid of in the future.

Next there'll be an outcry over forcing school kids to consume dihydrogen monoxide

So Johnson, Churchill, Farage (German great grandfather), Thatcher (Irish great grandfather), the royal family and the rights new darling Katie Lam should all be (have been) excluded from office? Or does she just mean people who look different from her?

What would the future of work committee discuss once the current bill is passed? Can't see more major changes to workforce relations. There are questions around AI which could sit in the digital committee (where the lack of business dept is striking given they now have the skills portfolio).

Intrigued by the suggestion of immigrants needing to speak English to an A level standard considering there is no speaking test in A level English

Judge an economy on how well it provides wellbeing for its citizens rather than GDP (which its creator days is a terrible measure of an economy on its own)

Foi doesn't apply to a private company like Reform

Translation: don't listen to your backbenchers

Let's look at the last thing that happened after a government promised a renegotiation of our membership of another European institution. Significant change was never possible so was easily characterised as a failure

How are you replacing the funds from the renewable energy levy cut? The long term key to cutting bills is investing in our electricity networks and mass programs of home retrofit

I'm sure many asylum seekers would contribute to UK society but currently they can't. Why is the government so tied to not letting them work?
November 17, 2025 at 3:58 PM
When will labour realise, they were elected on the mandate of being better than the Tories? Currently they are failing
November 17, 2025 at 2:57 PM
Given the home secretary is in parliament for questions, wouldn't it make sense for her to make a statement immediately after? In cases like this surely it helps everyone manage their time better if the UQs happen after the statement?

Because having all politicians come from a PPE at Oxbridge background worked so well?
November 17, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Given an aging population and more complex conditions, the future needs to have health and social care delivered by the same body to avoid patients falling into the crack in the middle (also taking social care away from councils). Why restructure NHS without any idea about what social care needs?
November 17, 2025 at 10:07 AM
But do they have a chance of getting through parliament?

Which elements aren't problematic for a large number of labour MPs?
November 16, 2025 at 10:49 PM
She's going to get an absolute kicking in the commons tomorrow. Tories and reform will say it's not enough and leaving ECHR is the only way. Her backbenchers will either be silent or overtly critical. Lib Dems and greens will tear her apart. How does this policy get close to getting through?
November 16, 2025 at 9:57 PM
At first I thought this government was timid and incompetent. The more I hear, the more I think there have been sleeper agents deployed into the labour party that are now being activated to destroy it from within
November 16, 2025 at 9:23 PM
Surely it depends how many Labour MPs and members leave the party before Starmer goes leaving only the McSweeny supporters left
November 16, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Was nothing learnt from the welfare debacle? The government seem out of step with their backbenchers again and threats of withdrawing the whip won't help. It will be a similar group who vote against at which point they'll ask themselves why am I not with the greens.

With 30% of homes having 2 or more spare bedrooms, we do have enough homes. We just need incentives to encourage using them more efficiently. The savings of a retired couple downsizing from their family home don't outweigh the costs and emotion of moving
November 16, 2025 at 12:22 PM
If the government are so worried about growth and productivity, wouldn't allowing refugees to work (and pay taxes) help rather than paying for them to stay in unsuitable hotels?
November 14, 2025 at 11:01 PM
The current devolution bill would be a good vehicle to get some statutory responsibilities on councils (assuming funding is provided too).
November 13, 2025 at 3:13 PM
First candidate to review their usage should be the government who last did so when it still had a sensible name
