Toddler got sick Sunday & just confirmed she must stay home again tomorrow. SO’s company decided this week no more remote work, so I’ve been solo parenting all week while also sick. Haven’t been able to shop for Valentine’s Day. Honestly just a supremely shitty week.

Gun violence is one of the leading causes of death in children in the U.S. & for decades our gov. has done nothing but offer thoughts & prayers, but golly did all 3 branches sure mobilize quickly to ban an app utilized by 170 million Americans based on absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing.

We finally got a new dishwasher after about a year and a half and I have never been so proactive about doing dishes in my life. The constant washing by hand is still too real, too recent. To let a dish linger in the sink for even 5 minutes is to take the dishwasher for granted. Never again.

I can’t delete my Meta apps because of work but I’m trying to consciously use them far less. With TikTok leaving, I’m going to make BlueSky my primary social media app.

I think I should ask what my country can do for me actually, because right now it’s doing fuck all.

it genuinely sucks that basically nothing on the internet works well anymore. search? barely works. social media? filled with garbage engagement-bait designed to game the algorithm. news websites? pages that refresh at random or so covered in video ads that it’s impossible to read stories

It’s been five days and I’m still thinking about Kristin Chenoweth’s gown in Wicked.

I’ve been sure to talk about my late mom a lot with my 3 year old, which is mostly good & sometimes less than ideal, like yesterday when she asked who took an old photo we were looking at and I said, “It was probably my Mom,” & she said “But your Mom is dead, remember?”

No one locks on to things like toddlers do. I’ll sneak out of the house after bedtime to grab a pizza for my husband and I and the first thing my 3 year old will say to me in the morning is “Where did you go last night?”

I just whipped up my first batch of fudge of the season, the holidays are officially here.

‘Tis the season where I have to sit through regular meetings where my boss says my name as often as he can just for the designers we’re meeting with to continue to mispronounce it.

Making the jump from a platform where I have almost no followers to a platform where I have *no* followers feels a bit like shouting into the void, but there ya go. 👋🏻
