Šeško has been my target for some time now, and I’m happy to see things seemingly progressing on his move to Arsenal, but it would be foolish to write off Gyökeres (or any other out-and-out CF) just because they aren’t my personal choice.

A bit more on Gyökeres - not my first choice but you can’t ignore the production he’s put up at Sporting in two season. Ultimately, if he were to join Arsenal, I think it matters less if he carries over the exact total of goals but more important that he’s able to provide the same level of threat.

On the other hand, any Arsenal fans trying to equate this banner to how Arsenal (as a club) show respect to the Hillsborough tragedy, in an attempt to show some sort of discrepancy in “class”, need to stop. Trying to point-score human decency and basic respect is jarring.

It’s creative, it’s funny, but still, kind of unbecoming for an otherwise top club and fanbase in Liverpool. A rare moment when the online fans have been granted a louder voice than normal and don’t reflect too nicely on the wider fanbase and club, as a result.
