11/ Step 7: Exec order: Trump's actions, taken as an illegit President under the 14th amend, were unconstitutional and illegal. Learn from an expert [Trump/Heritage] and swing the sledgehammer on pardons, restructuring, defunding, foreign policy, etc. Get it done in days. worry about courts later.

Yep. And any other insurrectionist in the gov't.
9/ Step 5: Both houses of Congress to pass resolution to "enforce" the 14th amendment's insurrection clause in accordance with the 2024 SCOTUS ruling, making sure that it applies to Trump. Have him escorted out. If that is a Constitutional crises, it's past due.

That's the takeaway that needs to be shouted from the rooftops. We gave up critical safety nets and services and got worse than nothing in return. Not even the sacred libertarian goal of debt reduction. Just chaos.

I think the 14th may have more legs than impeachment. SCOTUS literally said that its up to Congress to enforce, so do that. Further, if he was an invalid Pres from day 1, all his illegal actions, pardons, etc. are up for grabs. Implement as "move fast and break things."

I've been around a long time and this is the most appalling failure of political leadership I've seen. Considering the demands of justice, the good of the country, their oath to the Constitution, and basic politics, there is no logical reason not to impeach.

Don't forget the state-level felony convictions for which his sentencing was put on hold. It would be nice to have those pop up the day they march him out so we won't have to wait for some silly trial to see him behind bars.

A thought experiment: Would we be in a different place today if on June 14, 80% of the millions of protestors had signs and chanted slogans about impeachment?

The whole movement is grassroots - a citizen's impeachment. When we get No-Kings-like enthusiasm behind it, we will make history.

TBF, I'm way old enough to remember Clinton and his impeachment, and I don't remember a single word about Epstein in those days. If I heard the name there was no reason to remember it.

Here is the Impeachment Resolution For Andrew Johnson in all of its infinite complexity. You're going to love it.

First is copy hand written by John Covode. Second is written record. Don't know why there were a couple of extra words.

Quick answer from Google AI:
Resolution Introduced: February 21, 1868 (by Rep. John Covode).
Impeachment Vote (House): February 24, 1868 (126-47).
Articles of Impeachment Drafted/Approved: Early March 1868 (specifically March 2 and 3 for most articles).
Senate Trial Begins: March 5, 1868.

1/ Jeffries' statement is the only one I've seen by Dem leaders justifying their opposition to impeachment. My review:

"Impeachment is a sacred constitutional vehicle designed to hold a corrupt executive accountable for abuse of power, breaking the law and violating the public trust." ✔️

Don’t play Removal Ball. The Impeachment game is the process. Winning is getting the message of his crimes out to uninformed public. It's firing up the resistance with a new objective. A big win would be getting Impeachment #3, thus bigly enraging his royal hindness. Maybe convict on Imp #5 or 6.
Fear of Losing the Midterms Is Driving Trump’s Decisions
The specter of investigations and impeachment has fueled many of the president’s most dramatic actions.

Why aren't Dems all-in on this? Current paradigm for Removal Ball: all votes must be lined up in the House to impeach, resign yourself to the circus of “investigation” and hearings, vote to impeach, have the votes in the Senate to convict, before you can even start the game! Change the game!

4/ "Congressional hearings, sustained public organizing and the marshaling of the forces of democracy to build a broad national consensus."

The unreality of marshaling forces for consensus is hilarious. Battle Hymn of the Republic meets Kumbaya. What year are we in? Do better on Hegseth and RFK.

3/ "a comprehensive investigative process, the collection and review of thousands of documents, an exacting scrutiny of the facts, the examination of dozens of key witnesses. . ." When High Crimes are on nat'l TV and the subject brags about them, this can be greatly simplified, like Johnson's.

2/ "The effort traditionally requires ..." What tradition?

Andrew Johnson was impeached for "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" with NO ARTICLES. On 2/21/1868 the resolution was introduced. 3 days later the House voted to impeach and formed a committee to draft articles. In 2 days, articles were done.

A picture is worth a thousand lies. Trump's look gives it away as dude just touched that giant ulcer on his hand.

We live in a country that has a Constitution in which there is a safety valve to eject people like Kennedy, along with his worm. There are articles of impeachment in the House against Kennedy right now. Call your Rep and demand that they support. Worry about what the Senate will do in its own time.
