I agree 100%. People talking so much about the box office (especially the Week 1 box office) has ruined a lot of the discourse about movies. The amount of money a movie makes upfront has nothing to do with its success (see: The Thing)

Hot Fuzz - the jokes, the script (so perfectly plotted with so many great setup moments), the great characters, the final gunfight in the streets of Stanford. I love that movie
