Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had a similar situation.
It released in December of 2018, so it had just missed the cut for eligibility for The Game Awards that year. So, it had to wait until the following year to be eligible.

I'm not expecting the game to sweep. But if it did, I wouldn't be surprised either.
As for GOTY, I think Clair Obscur wins it. I think Silksong and maaaaybe DK Bananza could pull off an upset, but I doubt it.
Clair Obscur just seems to be on another level.

Fortunately, it seems that 4K/HDR/ray-tracing is the only advantage this has over my Steam Deck setup. So I don't *think* I'll be missing out on much if I stick with the Steam Deck?
