I've been in Scotland a long time, so I know it likes to blow things up. But if politicians had any spine at all, they would stop tinkering around the edges and ban bonfire night. I don't know what happened leading up to this picture, but with so many explosions going off, I can make assumptions.

Given the BBC is already preparing for the next Reform govt, they don't dare support anything or anyone left of centre, or possibly even centre.

I read this earlier and wish I hadn't. Don't read it. This is a vile crime on every level to only earn four years locked up. Go hug your cats right now.

Scotland's print media continues to have one obsession and only one. This spread hits all the notes of pretending the GC crowd are "reasonable" while using every decades-old bigoted language to dehumanise trans people or supporters. (Sorry for the rotation on the first pic)

Paisley Halloween Festival listed "Harry Potter" as one of the themes to their parade at the weekend (you wouldn't know if they hadn't said that). But has anyone alerted JKR that Scotland's biggest and best town changed the gender of her lead character? Not sure the town can afford a lawsuit...

Found the original window frame (and glass) alone with a full aerial and much else in our eaves yesterday. Why someone decided ash made sense for insulation I will never know.

The set-up is clear: the UK needs to ditch ALL human rights so it can discriminate against trans people (ie reclassify them as non-humans). The Times et al will be wringing their hands in glee at the prospect of a referendum focusing entirely on the threat of trans people and immigrants.

Back from visiting civilisation in Canada and I didn't miss Scottish transphobia. It is so glaring when you see inclusive signs on shops, rainbow crosswalks, or news that quotes trans people not solely those looking to exclude them. (More important, spoke to parents of 2 thriving trans young adults)

FB pushed this bs at me today, complete with the logic that women can't wear trousers, and men can't wear what is clearly a kilt. If you wonder where Britain is with far-right love-ins for gender roles, bigotry, etc, here we are.

The Courier almost gets it here. They are right about how "women's safety" is being used, as it always has, by the far right to be anti-immigrant. But they are doing the SAME THING on demonising trans people. It's not in isolation. Hence how Trump won.

Extra points: the press loves celebrity punch-downs particularly when the victim is a woman. It's misogyny...which they can't see when screaming about "protecting women and girls". Here, again, campaigner "reporter" gives no voice to trans people. One side only.

Without a single vote, Scotland has achieved a North Carolina bathroom ban, aided by a millionaire who gets cheered for being nasty to anyone who supports trans people. And my profession laps it up without question. That's the most serious bit: we question none of this. Every author here could be AI
