🌱 New paper in Diversity & Distributions!
We show that European alpine plants remain largely stable despite warming, with abundance shifts varying regionally. Seed traits offer limited power to predict “winners” & “losers,” highlighting the need for long-term monitoring.

🌊 Rising seas threaten Danish coastal plants—increased salinity hampers germination, and limited dispersal prevents migration. Congrats to @TanjaLazic on defending her excellent MSc thesis! 🎉 Rigorous data, complex stats, and sharp insights. Wishing you all the best! 👏

Rising seas threaten Denmark’s coastal plants.
Our MSc student Tanja Lazic studies seed tolerance & dispersal to uncover which species can adapt or migrate. Her work supports restoration, green infrastructure, & flood management. Let’s protect, restore, & work with nature.

3 years into my first faculty job, I was thrilled about the new career opportuniteis. What I didn’t expect was how little time I’d spend on actual research. Yesterday, I set up 2 small experiments to test a new method. Spending half a day in the lab felt amazing!

🌿 Thrilled to have hosted Margherita Tognela, a PhD student from @UniPavia, last autumn! Her work on plant traits helping alpine species survive climate change is groundbreaking. Plus, she’s uncovering how tundra fires impact Arctic plant regeneration - stay tuned for her findings! #AlpineEcology

🌿 Our MSc student Magnus is studying how alpine plants in Abisko, Sweden, respond to climate change. By comparing historical & recent data + functional traits, they’re uncovering which plant strategies thrive in warming alpine environments. #PlantEcology #ClimateChange
