The Canadian agriculture has taken a hit due to global warming. Field yields have dropped because of the droughts, but the warmer summers will allow drops such as corn and soybeans to grow better. www.parc.ca/saskadapt/ad....

At the school I transferred from, they would broadcast the basketball games on the local radio station. However they only broadcasted the mens games and not the women’s even though they played before the men. This is a great example on invisible power because no one has ever questioned why this is

This is a cool way that media make information such as sport available in a traditional format but on a media format

For the 2026 MLB season, Netflix will stream the Home Run Derby, a single game on opening night and the “MLB at field of dreams” game. In doing so they are paying around $50 million for these rights. I think this is smart because many people don’t have cable anymore but have Netflix

Still have the right to play in the NHL. He was the first example that came to mind. Knowing that your name is big and the spotlight that come with it also comes with knowing when to remove your self from situations where you reputation can be put at risk.

Regardless of what did or did not happen, I believe that regulations need to be put in place so that athletes (which are mentoring younger generation) have a positive image to look up to. I can see why many people can believe that him along with other athletes that were in the same situation as him

I 100% agree with you. Stronger action should have been taken against these athletes. Such as suspension from the NHL. Carter Hart should not be allowed to play for Vegas

What I found most sad about this article was that 40% of younger respondents experienced violence from a member of authority

In 2024 the government of Quebec released a article talking about the violence experienced by teenagers in sport in Quebec. They discussed the violence from authorities such as coaches. statistique.quebec.ca/en/communiqu...

This is a great example of a social deviance. Although I think that doping is done on purpose and they just hope they don’t get caught

During the Blue Jays run for the World Series, George Springer has been hit or almost hit many of times a game. This is a social deviance because its normal to throw inside to a batter but not so inside you run the risk of hitting the same player consistently

I think this totally depends on the severity of the injury and how much you use that injured part of your body in your sport. For instance if someone hurts their shoulder in a lower body sport they can probably still compete, but when it starts to hinder their performance you need to re evaluate.

I don’t agree with you. Although this is a rare experience, he is still early into his playing career. Is it really worth risking his physical health for the rest of his life

most people don’t realize that being to express this little bit extra femininity can go along way. It shows that someone can have stuff that makes the feel beautiful and it doesn’t impact their sports involvement!

This is so cool! It shows that men can also break gender norms and to show kids that they can reach anything they want

The hockey world has developed so much since Manon Rhéaume broke this barrier. We now have female hockey league, not just for youth but professionally.

Prior to 1902, figure skating was a male dominated sport until a British skater named Madge Syers became the first woman to compete in the World Figure Skating, and medaled. She stepped into a masculine sport, which is now seen as more of a feminine sport. skatecanada.ca/2025/04/16/b...
