Presidential assassinations, civil war, illegal wars, race shootings and hangings, schools shootings and bombings. It's all horrible but it has always been a defining characteristic of America.

Sad that a former president is this naive. America has always been about violence from its very beginnings to what is taking place now and everything in between.

It's every bit as good if not better in some ways. Your granddaughter is probably not old enough to understand that it's a different, darker more complex part of the story and that doesn't necessarily mean it's not "good."
