Imagine you writing react server components only. Mental model of state and render cycles is similar to react. Instead of writing react you write in elixir. It’s the simplest I could think of.

Ash is getting better with everyday. There is a learning for sure. If your using AI tools like Claude code, you just need to describe and with Ash shipping with Agents.md you will be up and running pretty quickly.
