Not w.r.t features. But it does get frequently updated to keep up with Chromium updates.

My view is that linking should happen organically. Link a note to another only if/when needed. With unlinked notes widget there's no need to link everything imo.

Tags, I understand are essential when using Bear. But with Obsidian so far I haven't felt the need to tag my notes.
With title search and full-text search (via Omnisearch plugin) everything is discoverable and easily accessible. Why tag them then?
