Nature of reality, of consciousness, of language and other futile things
Is he doing a cover of John Cage's 4'33'' ?

For what it's worth, I see your post.

and of course it's easier to test people immersed in a game or a virtual world, so it would also help develop a methodology

You cannot ask somebody to adopt a whole cultural system in order to experience new states of consciousness, but you can help them to build their own "world". Put simply, I'm interested in future video games, or virtual worlds, tailored to help develop useful states of consciousness.

because they may sound "too religious" if they involve themselves in this domain

But I agree with you, there is no evidence that these "natural" techniques are safer that "technological ones" and they are certainly les efficient in many situations. They remain interesting to study, anyway, something valuable may come out of them

the various psychophysiological techniques are just amplifiers. I think that the problem with people studying neurotheology is that they are indeed afraid to study these imaginary worlds and cosmologies and their impact on the mind/brain.

Well, I see things differently. I think in fact the most important thing is "the context". You connect your mind to a virtual/imaginary world, and imagination is in fact doing the trick: this is the really "active" part of the technique. Ritual is the important thing /1

Agrippa, not Agripp (no way to edit posts...)
November 16, 2025 at 5:03 PM
speaking of Agrippa and the Hanegraaf's paper : My french edition of Agripp, was published by "l'île verte". The exact name of Corbin's esoteric group, according the paper. As "L'île verte" also published Durand, I don't think it is a coincidence...

Even in Agrippa, who was a soldier ! (and perhaps because of that...) /2

Sure, but as you wrote, it's a romantic vision. I wonder when this topic became important in the history of Western esotericism. Are there any traces before de Ramsay and the invention of the Scottish Rite ? I see no mention of mystical chivalry in the writings of Renaissance Hermeticists /1

Also, I will never understand esotericists' fascination with Templarism and Chivalry. It completely escapes me.

So the Golden Dawn temples continued an authentic Egyptian tradition 🤣
