I've wanted to see Metropolis on the big screen for years, and I finally got that chance tonight at the Gateway. The 4k restoration is absolutely gorgeous! The seeds of so many sci-fi epics were sown with this film. The message still holds up- "The mediator between head and hands must be the heart."

The Life of Chuck is such a beautiful, thoughtful, life-affirming film. I loved every single second. Each actor gave a flawless, shining performance. This is quite near a perfect film.

Sinners has to be the best film of the year so far! If the academy will acknowledge a horror movie, it would sweep through the categories at the Oscars- best actor, best screenplay, casting, makeup, set design, costume design, lighting, sound mixing, and OF COURSE best overall soundtrack.

The Importance of Being Earnest from The National Theatre was brilliantly hilarious and hilariously brilliant! Every aspect, from the acting to the set design to the costuming, was just purely fabulous! And Lady Bracknell stole every scene she was in- absolutely flawless character work!

"For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes (Matthew 5). But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. And of course, that's Moses, not Jesus. (1/2)

Cleared off my Neil Gaiman shelf today... Photo 1 is what I'm probably going to get rid of. Photo 2 is what I'm either keeping (for now) or can't make a decision on just yet. This really hurts... I just can't stand looking at all of them anymore, let alone the thought of reading them ever again.
