I'm totally serious about this. There are thousands of people, mostly young, who credit bts with saving their lives and putting them on a much healthier and happier path.

Their message is empathetic and very much addresses the mental health dimensions of trying to succeed in this world. At least in Korea (not so different in terms of the misogyny and masculinity crisis) their example is influential, and offers another option of how to be.

If you want an example of a successful alternate model of masculinity, look at BTS. Their fandom may be more female, but they are also widely respected, admired and successful. Though limited in how they discuss politics,much of their early music speaks directly to the challenges young people face.
