Food, football and general despair at all this.
Pint of choice for 16/17 year old me, thanks to the bar staff in Reading's Hook & Tackle circa 1998/99 accepting the shadiest of fake IDs.

Positive was the end of 22/23.

Finished last season on -10, so...

Was wondering earlier about when the last time we had a double-digit goal difference was.

My father in law managed it it twice.

Dan Hannan saying he has a 'funny instinct' for things that definitely will not happen is almost self-reflective.

Michael Cohen's whole testimony was that Trump will never explicitly tell you to do a thing, but he'll talk around the subject in such a way that leaves you with little doubt what he really wants...

The full quote very much carries an implicit threat of violence, doesn't it?

"I know you're not going to be violent, but they have to know that you could be..." *nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more* (or say a lot more over the next 50 minutes and then tell them to 'Fight like hell')

"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that."

"This is way more expensive than it used to be and not as good" feels much more salient and upsetting than "this is more expensive, but I still had a great experience"

The cycle with VC-backed chains always seems to be that they go for massive expansion, prices go up and quality goes down. Even if those prices are comparable to similar independents, the *value* that made them popular in the first place becomes fucked. So I'll pick the better quality local joint.

We were on Dubrovnik and an English couple were absolutely disgusted that their Iberian Pork dish had been served "unfit for human consumption". TBF, if you have never had it before, then it might be a surprise when it turns up a bit pink, but they were also having none of the waiter's explanation.

Blaming New Labour worked perfectly well for the Tories for years. So clearly the lesson the Labour government has taken is to blame Labour.

A bit ridiculous that the Prodigy security had clearly been training at the Empire school for sharpshooters, though.

She could ask to expand the ToR to include billionaires?

Exactly. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate one.

"If it's a severed head, I'm going to be very upset" goes through my head every time I receive a gift.

I am yet to receive a gun rack.

Right. Reform have 5(?) MPs (at least 2 of whom no one could pick out of a line up), no candidates & barely one coherent policy. They receive almost no scrutiny, so their entire polling seems based on a) that one cunt, b) not being Labour OR the Tories & c) the media screaming how popular they are.

I have often wondered how many people's total exposure to current affairs and politics is the newspaper headlines as they queue in shops.
