I bawled my face off so many times watching @booker.senate.gov give his marathon speech. Unbelievably moving. Incredibly powerful. Full of heart and good trouble. This Canadian is honoured to have a neighbour like you sir. John Lewis and your dad were looking down with pride.

Teaching can be exhausting, frustrating and triggering. @joyannreid.bsky.social taught me every single day. She opened my eyes, expanded my mind and heart. I laughed with her, nerded out, and cried with her. Thank you Joy for teaching me. Whatever is next for you, I will be watching and learning.

The number of politicians willing to use the Not Withstanding Clause is shameful. It was intended to be used infrequently, not to be used on a whim to deny the rights of marginalized people. These politicians are ripping up The Charter to satisfy there extreme supporters.

Politics in this province kick the crap out of my old 🏳️‍🌈 💜. I’ve protested, marched, & fought against the likes of book banning in school libraries & for everything from AIDS funding & 🌈marriage. To see The UCP targeting trans kids is heartbreaking. We are going to fight back as hard as we ever have.

When you are wearing your fancy pink suit (with the words The Man on the back). You are suddenly Fearless and can crush hating heights! Standing on the glass floor of the CN Tower.

Support your local library. I know in Calgary it was super easy to get a card. Filled out a form online & I was good to go. When I moved from my small town to Vancouver, the VPL was my safe place while I adjusted to all the changes in my life. It was also the first place I saw queer books on a shelf

So I’ve been on here for a couple of days and I have to say it reminds me of everything I loved about early Twitter. I got some news, some politics, some sports, a bit of the geeky stuff I loved. The queer content wasn’t filled with homophobia comments. The Sky really is blue river here.
