Right on! Totally is, and the entire structure of social expectations start in very early childhood. But to me and lots of others it’s also way more than fetish- that’s what really catapults it into the political-it’s an identity.

Oh man that sucks. But it makes sense from a parenting perspective-this is exactly what they worked your whole life on-they see their job as to raise you out of childhood to responsible adulthood. It’s archaic thinking but logical. They need to see it isn’t incongruous with functional adulting too.
