Such a ridiculous epoca we live in. Imagine if politicians were loud and proud of their environmental policies and shouted about their progress. Like we did 40 years ago with water quality in the Thames 🤬 or closing the ozone hole. But hey ho corruption.

That is bollox. LP wasting billions in carbon capture, giving new subsidies to Drax to destroy foreign native forests, new gas/oil licenses blah blah...only reason Starmer in Brazil to greenwash as even he realises Greens gaining on back of his Reform first policies.

The paradox of Norway is they are financially rich whilst the "wealth" they have accumulated is destroying the Artic paradise they inhabit . It's not a triumph but a tragedy, and one they do share with Auz.

People rarely care about the balance of payments unless it leads to collapse in their living standards. Sterling does 5% this year. An imprudent budget would see it weaken strongly. In a country with too many people and not enough food, this directly impacts living standards . Can u eat your ideas?

Nah, globalisation and outsourcing of manufacturing to lower cost emerging economies far more impactful. Canada didn't even bail out banks, and the US turned a profit. Protecting mature economies with open economies pretty impossible.

TBF, they're pretty scientific beasts, but you're right at this point in the electoral cycle pointless. Think this cycle is different, though every constituency will be its own GE as non facists will vote for whoever has the best shout of beating farage. Makes nationwide polls even more irrelevant

I now live in Galicia. Close to where I live was a settlement called Britonia, populated by Celts escaping the Anglo-Saxon marauding invasion. European history never simple.
