I think you should go. If Dems don't attend - it sends a visual which can be misleading around the worlds. I'd rather see a for and against crowd then the U.S. represented by what appears to be a nazi-party rally from the 30s and 40s.

But does he care.....Trump will be Trump and he has his agenda...when will his and his team's actions impact and influence the Congress members who promote and enable their actions? Thats the ONLY group that can change this and they won't until it hurts them.

At this point seems like the plans is to seize Ukraine assets and give them to Russia.

You can NOT run a country as a business. The goal of a business is generally measured in profit. The goals of a country are not measured that way. Its measured in the impact and influence of the money spent and how it aligns to the interest of the country.

I am 65 years old straight white guy. I don't and have never understood ANY public display of hate from one group to another. It does not make sense to me. Race, religion,LGBTQ status, economic status, ethnicity, etc....how does any of that impact me as a person or the country?

Do you honestly think Trump and his crew cares if Dems shut down the Government? Seems that would support their own agenda...which has nothing to do with governing this country effectively.

You will not have good security when you have leaders in place which tell others to ignore the security processes and checks in balances which are in place.

Anyone who works for the Government - especially those working Government IT and security - know not just LAWs which drive system/data protection but the security threats which drive the process to gaining access.

There are laws which drive how access to Government systems is provided to ensure the "confidentially integrity and availability" of those systems and data - pushing back on stuff like this is not being obstructive. There are valid reasons for following the process.

People think we give aid to countries because we are "nice". Yes, we are nice, but aid is a government strategy to stabilize countries and influence their governments to do whats in best interest of the USA. Removing our aid will just give Russia, China, and Iran more influence and weaken us.

There are spirits & set of principles for how we govern which links back to our founding fathers AND sets the tone for how the country should behave. They abandoned all that and have removed expected norms for behavior and civility. Its those principles which ARE America and they have abandoned it.

The bigger picture across all his action is he is erasing true separation of power between all branches of the Government and increasing his control so there are no checks and balances, or effective ways to maintain accountability. Puts "businesses" over "country" in every decision.

His agenda will be to 1) make money for himself and the wealthy (what he cares about), 2) push far right agenda of those who provided the power/votes for his election, and 3) giving the "appearance" of trying to meet campaign promises which help individual voters.

I think its also they didn't understand. I don't think the DEMS put enough effort in "educating" Trumps fan base. They should have started on day 1 of Biden's term - but they really didn't implement a aggressive strategy to counter the misinformation strategy which influenced so many GOP voters.
