Hard to say. Like, logically it makes sense that the best players will go to the teams that can pay them the most and so teams with deep pockets can attract the talent that others can't. It's not as simple as more money = better results, but it would make sense for them to be somewhat correlated.

For what it's worth, the New York Mets threw even more money at their team than the Dodgers and the Mets didn't even make the playoffs. And the Milwaukee Brewers were 23rd out of 30 teams in terms of payroll and they made it to the round before the World Series.
