My issue- was conflating this with a life estimate I saw elsewhere. The math still holds though.

If you dig into semiconductor failure and FIT and MTTF and Arrhenius and you think about running a GPU at 100% capacity, then you glance at the heuristic that a 10 degree C rise halves the life of the device, and you might be running it 40-50C hotter than the norm?

I can’t ID my employer or specifics but the replacement cycle is about 2.5-3 years at work.

Going from memory, that’s the story. So you get massive strings. Bar chords don’t care. I learned “mary had a little lamb” and that was about it. Migrated to piano/vox from there.

If done correctly it can sound amazing. But other than whacking at some chords occasionally I lack the skills and strength

A SRV setup is supposed to be a whole step down on all 6 strings. But it still feel like you’re fretting tram wire rope

That’s wonderful! I made the mistake of building a strat/Warmouth hybrid thinking I wanted to sound like SRV. I think I put .013 on an electric. Railroad tie dunlop frets. earvana nut. Nice guitar. I still suck. It should have a 9 set.

I disagree. A dishwasher made in 1992 is still working. A dishwasher made in 2022 isn’t.
