Quite amazing that a story like this doesn’t appear anywhere in the home section of my BBC app, but I do get to know about Macron’s sunglasses, the Beckhams and the BBC on YouTube.

Separately, the standards commissioner said the error was “inadvertent”. How is 17 errors inadvertent?!

Why would you support anyone else?! Well played lads!

I mean, it speaks to her incompetence that it took her this long to realise it

Is it controversial to say South Africa have played poorly and there’s no way it should be this close

Would Trump even be able to sue in Florida? It looks to like the UK entity of the BBC doesn’t have an office or presence in the US. Would the court have jurisdiction?

Why are they getting the monopoly man to comment on student affairs?

Forcing 70 million people the faff of having to take/carry/renew/pay for an ID card on the basis of about 1m unauthorised people in the UK and around 50k incoming people a year.

1. Doesn’t pass sniff test
2. Just going to demonise migrants more

Also it’s generally not a good idea to openly admit that your negotiating tactics are just negotiating tactics.

Especially if you’re negotiating with someone who isn’t really negotiating.

My wife is born in Australia and came to this country in 2007. 2 kids, worked and contributed to this country ever since. Has ILR.

She has spent this morning looking at applying for a British citizenship she doesn’t want and feels like she’s earned. My heart breaks for everyone in this situation.

For an adult, yes. Try taking an under 10 away for a long weekend, with one of those militant cabin bags

The Studio with Seth Rogen is also very enjoyable and well worth a watch. Apple have by far the best quality original content of any of the major streaming services.

He will never have + favourability from the Cons/Reform side. He’s now actively working on trashing his reputation with immigrants, the old, farmers, trans and people connected to them. Not many people left.

I was pro Starmer and his general quiet competence thing, but he’s lost me

..when all she has done is try and be successful and make a home.

I don’t really see why I should hold back her dreams based on Starmers language (of whom I expected better).

For the UK though, that means our collective contribution and their investment ultimately disappears to another country

My wife moved here in 07 to marry me. She has worked ever since, paid her tax and is a successful high up in a procurement company.

She feels no attachment to this country and wants us to move to Canada. I can’t really blame her. Politicians have spent the last 20 years vilifying her..

I’m sure Trump said that if countries put reciprocal tariffs on, then he would just add more on top. On that basis, are we just going to keep adding 34% until someone breaks?

Not a question, but wanted to say very happy at referring to @helenlohara.bsky.social as Skywalker. My wife was Skye Williams, married me and changed her surname to mine. She still hasn’t heard the end of it some 16 years later

Seeing the meeting at the weekend, I felt genuine pride in the UK and Starmer. I couldn’t remember the last time I felt proud of our PM.

I can only take one reading from Trumps shitshow so far. Anything that costs the US money round the world is for the chop.

Trump winds Ukraine up enough that he can justify cutting some money off. Europe steps in and US support continues to tail off.
