i do not know how to convince you of this; sometimes your favorite writers can get critiqued. i don't think vivziepop is evil, because i believe evil is very rare if it exists at all, i just think her writing is misogynistic and she should log off sometimes. i recommend you log off too.

i also think the idea of frankie being 'textually transfem' relied pretty heavily on the writers... being bad? i think i know what scenes people are referring to as her experiencing transphobia, and the fact that neither are really explored means either A. they weren't or B. the writers are hacks.

i guess that's a fair assessment. i still don't really like the way the discourse is going; i think you can be harsh without being so noxious that even other transfems begin to lose respect for you. not to mention gooseworx had a similar thing happen with transfem jax headcanons on reddit recently

i did like the homestuck pilot and watch TADC, and again, i myself am a trans woman so itd be hard for me to NOT support tma creators on account of the fact that i am one, i just really don't get online responses to this whole debacle.

having close friends of a minority doesn't mean you cannot be bigoted against that minority. for the record, my larger issue with vivziepop as a person is her misogynistic writing and inability to handle criticism.

to be clear; i hope none of this comes across as dismissing the legitimate criticisms with dana's behavior. i am baffled by her handling of this. i just think the extrapolations into the show itself are unhelpful and that there are far more pressing issues wrt transmisogyny in animation than KoG

all this to say; im not begging for scraps, i'm neutral on whether or not i expect a transfem character at all in the upcoming episodes, i just think its weird to make sweeping judgements of a cast based on the pilot episode.

not to mention that the company working on the homestuck series is an offshoot of vivziepop's animation company and vivziepop has a pretty rough track record with her treatment of trans people, especially trans men

the homestuck fandom was also (and still often is) a transmisogynistic hellhole that has hired transmisogynist writers in the past, and TADC so far doesn't have anything in the way of explicit transfem rep, so it feels disingenuous to say theyre better at rep because they have transfem leadership

like call me crazy, call me idealist, but as a trans woman, id rather have rep written with me in mind rather than wildly speculate on a character who read as cis to me on first viewing

i can agree on dana terrace probably having some things to work through with her handling of things on twitter, but every other judgement about the show 'being like every other tme cartoon' feels premature given we don't even have an episode count yet.
