So, if you see someone discount someone else's argument on the basis that they are defending a minority, it's fair to assume they at minimum are actively attacking people solely based on minority status, and are likely attacking to the point of dehumanization.

"Defend" has another potential interpretation here -- justification. If someone accuses me of justifying a minority, that implies people need to provide justification to exist, an extremely inhumane concept.

So, to them, one must join the attack against the target minority, or risk being perceived as part of the minority, and thus a target for the attackers.
