Inspiration finally struck

Its fun to think that these two models, separated by 7 years of modelling and real life RR experience, are meant to be the same locomotive. It's wild to see where I started (And that I still have this 7 year old screenshot)

To wrap this thread up, a pre-pandemic video of my NYC suburban tank engine. One of the few "real" engines I've modelled. One day I'll model this engine again, either in Blender, lego or Gmod again. Big mainline tank engines tickle my fancy

Venturing back to the pandemic with this one. I was testing and showing off my latest build at the time, a custom designed Cab Forward engine. The chuffing sounds weren't working right but everything else was finished.

This was a test of my Mogul's valve gear animation. Without getting too deep in the weeds of steam engine design, Most of this was discarded and redone with different props and geometry to be more realistic. This was just laying out the rods and wheels in their most basic form

The Climax hustling logs past the camera. Something was wrong with the code for the whistle and it was playing at a really low volume. When editing this for the showcase I had to boost the whistle in post in order for it to be heard over the music

Small thread of unedited footage from my Gmod stuffs. I kinda miss coding sounds and procedural animation in Lua script, so enjoy my trip down memory lane.
This clip is of my Class A Climax locomotive's engine, starting from a dead stop

Not much has been going on here. The primary culprits being a lack of motivation and moving houses. Whenever inspiration strikes again, expect more stuff here.

There was a reason one of my last lego models was of a Hornet

He's finally been finished! Look at the boy! The red and purple skins are easily my favorites, they're really slept on Dalek color schemes.

The scrapped 30th Anniversary Special Weapons Dalek!
This Dalek was designed for The Dark Dimension, a story that ended up never materializing. This is my take on if the prop had been built. Much like the original SWD, using existing molds and simple shapes to build a convincing prop.

Alright gents, place your bets! If this SWD varient actually got built for the 30th as intended, do you think it would've been faithful to the concept art colors? Or had Imperial Colors?

The custom rods really complete the model for me, I'm so proud of how they turned out

Working on a 1:48 scale model of one of my favorite ng steam engines. Denver & Rio Grande Western's 375, a class C-25 outside frame consolidation
