just watched starkid's latest musical, cinderella's castle.
oh my gosh it goes so hard. what the heck. I love starkid but this is literally a whole new level for them. and this is such a fresh and unique adaptation of a very classic story

worldbuilding pet peeve: when someone translates a poem from a fictional language to english, but it still rhymes in english!!!! direct translations usually don’t rhyme!!!!!!!

daily squid update
next thing I wanted to figure out was the star-creating minigame. this is a big part of the core loop, so it’s important to make sure it’s interesting!
I used python to prototype a deckbuilder-inspired system which I think works quite nicely!

so far I have developed the dynamic skybox and some super mario galaxy style gravity, with a custom player controller that uses it

been pondering a game idea that's basically webfishing but instead you are space creatures on a space island making stars and sending them into the sky
stars are made with a turn based minigame that's a mix of ffxiv crafting + pokemon battles
