I’m not going to taunt 2026 into throwing its worst at me, but I’m stronger than I thought I was and I’ve got fight in me yet. I think many of us still do. I hope we keep getting through it together.

I don’t feel “hope” that things are going to be OK anytime soon. That would be naive and ill-informed of me, I think. But I don’t feel scared to exist. It’s like a feeling that things are still going to suck, but I know it won’t be forever, I am still here, ‘25 didn’t destroy me.

Watching a (long) video recounting the year last night, with its awfulness to the point of absurdity (we have to laugh not to cry at some point) really seemed to justify the way I felt then.

But this NYE, I felt… strong. Not sure how to phrase it. “Hopeful” doesn’t seem like the right word to use.

Maybe “someday, when we are wiser, when the world learns” as the song goes. Kinda tearing up thinking of that song now.

I no longer actually discuss certain topics online. Have not for years and will not start again now. But my sincerest wish is that there be less suffering in this world someday, somehow. Right now I really worry about some of my friends.

Like, TMI, but I wouldn’t even have time to make posts like these if it wasn’t because my low ALP nonsense keeps giving increasingly worse IBS. Yesterday I had the runs 5 times. It’s just my life now. So I type while sitting on the toilet.

And regarding my struggles with descriptive text for images, rather than giving up altogether I think I’ll continue my efforts to put such text on my artwork over in my main account, while giving myself a break on this one. Basically I’ll make this account my little refuge.

I’m not sure who I will follow from this account yet. As far as who can follow me here, I don’t think I’ll have any restrictions in that regard.
