Which are almost everything- being born early, broken bone, pregnancy, etc etc etc so most people on their own can't even buy insurance without the ACA.
It's unconscionable, but they get away with it, make huge profits, and routinely refuse to pay for even things that are covered.
It's all a scam

Freelancers, writers, artists - anyone without an employer paying part of their insurance.
There is going to be an enormous loss of art here when folks have to get day jobs.
Plus, the ACA forced coverage even with pre existing conditions. -

They mostly don't, which is why we are in a crisis in this country. With some tax credits through covid, many people were getting heavily subsidized coverage in the $100 to $200 range, & with those removed the monthly costs are impossible.
Most ppl buying their own policies are self employed. -

We have a significant age gap (don't worry, I am the tiger and he is the innocent gazelle 🤣🤣🤣).
So when he retires, with politics where they are, it will cost me $2000 a month or so to get health insurance if the ACA still exists. If it doesn't, I won't be able to get any.

If you're old enough (65) you can get Medicare. If you're in what the kids are calling a "problematic age gap" relationship and the older person has the insurance, the younger person has to get their own when the older one retires.
