Might be remembering something else but doesn't one of the skeletons for the escape pod have a fire extinguisher and the other a blowtorch?

The scenery is great, the plastic goliaths, not so much

I hadn't actually read the article, but have done now. It's the use of the term 'otherwise' causing the problem. In the context of that one paragraph in isolation, it could be read as "on a 1-2" you get 2 random effects. But the paragraph before adds a little more context to the 'otherwise' meaning.

Read it all in order - declare target, then roll a dice. If you roll 3+ you can either pick one result, or roll 2 dice and apply them both. What is not directly said, because it's not required, is that if you don't roll a 3+ on that first dice roll, nothing happens.

I get my joy from coming up with an idea and then trying to achieve it. So stuff like "I want to build a Squat Colossus" or "I want a 2nd-ed style Blood Angel army made from new models" or even something as simple as "I want all my nurgle stuff to be brown rather than green". I make my own fun.
