At this point, the men would become disorganized and the gorilla could more easily pick them off in small groups. Of course, if the only other option is death, maybe men would push past their fear. But if history has taught us anything, it's that men don't often behave in their best interest.

I'm by no means a gorilla/human psycology expert, but I feel like when backed into a corner, the gorilla will go berserko mode while humans are more likely to succumb to fear after seeing the first few men's arms ripped off or heads chomped in half with 1300psi of pure gorilla jaw action.

I'll agree that the 100 men will have more combined stamina than the Gorilla and, on paper, they probably have the advantage. The reason I think the gorilla would win comes down to the human's fear/panic response and their instinct for self-preservation.

And how do you decide who gets to be on the front line of the gorilla ambush? I know it wouldn't be me

Realistically, only about 6-10 guys will be within reaching distance of the gorilla at any given time. The gorilla could easily handle that many dudes at once. Even if they try to rush and dogpile on, a gorilla can run 23-35mph. I think it'll outmaneuver a group of humans

MAYBE 100 very in shape guys who have 24 hours to prep beforehand would have a chance. But dump 100 average guys in an arena with 1 average silverback gorilla and they don't stand a chance
