Is it bad that just looking at the poster I said to myself “That’s got to be a Cirio Santiago joint”

Literally had to take a cybersecurity class with a AI section that begins its first slide with “AI is here to stay”. Feels like a massive psyop

But how will you know if everyone else knows that you were correct? Can you truly say you enjoyed a movie unless it appears in an article in December with a bullet and a number (no greater than 3 because anything else sucks actually)?

My hyperbolic take on the first Spider-Man is that it uses color as a medium for entertainment better than any live action movie since Wizard of Oz, and I’m not sure anything since has come close.

Objectively wrong. Sorry, S1 of Disco is a completely alright season of TV that wasn’t up to the task of reviving a dormant franchise. Picard S2 on top of being a grimdark retcon in the worst possible setting for a season of ST (present day earth?) also can’t construct a single competent episode

Rogue One *is* bad, it’s wild to me that people like it. The only thing that works is the part of the movie we knew was going to happen going in, and even that’s a mixed bag. The first 3/4s is not only unwatchable, it’s unnecessary. If you drop in at the 90 minutes mark you lose nothing.

They changed the wording in 1996 from “no children under 17” to “no children 17 and under” (meaning 18 and older only). Guess which movie the first major release to be affected by that change.

A term is 2 years and you need 5 years to get vested. So she does?

Yeah, that’s how I know Libby has kindle integration. I’m just saying that I’ll probably never use the native reader app because I won’t on my phone. (Also most e-ink readers are front lit, through some very clever engineering, and don’t have the same issues as a backlit device).
November 24, 2025 at 11:20 AM
Yeah but lots of people (myself included) don’t like doing that much reading on a backlit screen. Glad the option is there though.
November 24, 2025 at 5:41 AM
It definitely has kindle integration.

One of the all time faces. If you needed a guy who could 100% sell a character just by being on screen he was at the top of that list.

You’re asking lot of questions that my “Trump does not want to execute members of Congress” t-shirt already answered.

Boomer is less a generational cohort than “are you old enough for AARP”. Same way that Gen Z is used to refer to teenagers despite the oldest having coming up on 30 with kids if their own.

I specifically didn’t mention replacement theory because that *is* deeply antisemitic in origin. I feel like you’re trying to push me into a position of “all racism is the same” and “antisemitism isn’t real” when what I’m saying is that the specific dynamic you’re describing is universal to bigotry
November 19, 2025 at 6:57 PM
C’mon, “actually this kind of racism that has been used to target a wide range of POCs is actually antisemitism” 🤦🏾‍♂️. Also Jim Crow existed because former slaves suddenly had significant political power that threatened existing dynamics. It’s specific to political and economic power.
November 19, 2025 at 6:30 PM
What do you think DEI and reverse racism is? What do you think “woke” and Cancel Culture is about? Why do you think Jim Crow existed? What do you imagine “they take our jobs and homes and resources” means? You are describing one of the single most fundamental aspects of oppression.

This prediction is like a sci-fi movie made in the 80s where the people living in 2010 have new wave haircuts and giant shoulder pads and put their VR googles on to step into the grid.

1. An unstoppable monster laying waste to this police precinct.

2. Righteous revenge is worse than any of the sins committed

3. We are all very good at our jobs and this project ends in success

4. Godzilla

5. We are all very bad at our jobs and this project ends in catastrophic failure

If I had to rank my all-time shows Americans comes in right behind the first 5 seasons of X-files as #3 (with Star Trek:TNG at an unambiguous #1). Like, if I can’t have qualifiers, Americans is #2, and maybe The Wire at #3.

Ok, but Trump didn’t know that his spa employees were underage? I’m not saying it’s impossible, but he knew who they were, that they were poached but somehow didn’t also know that they were children? This would be more than enough for a grand jury
November 12, 2025 at 2:57 PM
He’s not up for reelection in 2026 though. Like, he should be removed from his leadership position, and retire/be primaried in 2028, but this is mostly nonsense.
November 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM
It was deliberately reset, but also M was the same person from the previous series. It makes 0 sense, yet no one had any trouble wrapping their head around it. If this was Connery to Lazenby the handwringing would make sense but we all know the score now.

Optics aren’t governance. Election strategy and campaigning isn’t governance. Giving up the thing people wanted you to fight for because it makes the other guy look bad (maybe) in 18 months is so fucking stupid and it’s not the job we hired these people to do.

I lived in the same town. It’s true.
