On the day of the next election, whenever that may be, with Labour looking at a generational defeat and handing the country to Reform, I can't imagine James O Brien for a second for example thinking that anything could have been done different.

They can't point out how unpopular or incompetent he is because he's not changed. He is the exact same shade of beige he's always been. To question him now is to question those who pushed him through without scrutiny, and we can't be having that.
