We'd all built teams in the past, so we had all done that before, but it did feel a little bad not having any mid or jr people on the team. And we were all planning on making two or three games for this company and retiring.

It's very tricky, my last project we were a ~18 person team of ultra experienced people. I don't think a single person had less then 15 years and had come from a AAA studio. We were easily 2x (maybe 4x) a normal team twice the size. But like you said, there was no future for the studio.
