In September, the first major content update went out as 0.30 - "The Elven War". It featured Act 2, and the first Set items. My girlfriend's younger brother also debuted his voice acting with this update, adding the first voices to the game (Elf bosses)! He later returned to voice Weyrick in Act 3.

Here's version 2 of the Character select and the first Difficulty select screen. Also looking at an updated main menu with the original pixelart game logo, made by a friends wife, after they stepped in to help me get art done for the first big update.

The Inventory etc looked like this for a long time, before I had the card popups when you hovered stuff. It was bad.

After a release (version 0.20) I got to work on fixing some stuff based on feedback, and working on the next Act of the game - yep the game launched on EA with only Act 1! And it was about half the size of what it is today.

About halfway through 2015 I had settled for the scope of the world and the overall design of the Chronicon. It's very similar today! And now a Steam release is just around the corner. Exciting times!

About 3 months into 2015, I had the first skill trees working. They looked like this for quite a while. Most of these skills are still in the game too! The Warden actually has a fire skill here, Explosive Shot I think it was called, which is the only fire skill she ever had.

Enter 2015 and I am speeding towards a Steam Early Access (then Steam Greenlight) release. I got enemies with random modifiers, lighting, quests, and some decent UI going by now. Also note the shape of the area... it's still the same!

I quickly realized I needed to hire an artist and here is the result of that. Some proper character art, details, items, etc. Also note the fancy shadows, which I ended up scrapping. Though I think they might still technically be in the game, and might be able to enable via the config file...

This is probably the earliest screenshot I have of post-gamejam and the first steps into Chronicon. Already have the urns there, and got local co-op going. The inventory etc that's in the final version of the game looks the way it does because I was initially developing it as a local co-op game.
