Yeah! Belgium Central is open for business. A new Azure zone at a few kilometers from the office... No more complaining about latency, I guess 😁💪

Hard Rock International is sponsoring the new White House Ballroom... Quite unique location for another Hard Rock Cafe! Would they open a shop as well? 🤔

When I use the CopyData activity in a #MicrosoftFabric pipeline, it allows for blanks in the column names. But then I try to append to the existing table from the lakehouse explorer, I get the error that blanks are not allowed... weird 🤔

In just two weeks it's #DataMindsSaturday.
Looking forward to meet the Belgian SQL family in Mechelen!

Bye Bye long list of Microsoft Fabric experiences 👋
Welcome new Microsoft Fabric experience

🫣
I was clearly missing the experience to switch experiences.
Thanks for the reminder!
I even got an entire new Fabric View experience, just to remind me 😁

Microsoft Fabric question: In the past I could upload notebook (.ipynb) files via the Upload menu. But that now only supports uploading .pbix and .rdl files. Is there any other way to upload existing notebooks in a Fabric workspace?

Sessionize is so in favor of inclusion that they add everybody to the top 3 percent! How thoughtful of them

Somebody in the Fabric development team surely loves underscores ❤️
In this situation, better than camelCase if you ask my opinion 😉

Did you know the new Fabric databases support the new vector data type? So you have a database to support your AI solutions ready in #MicrosoftFabric!

The Purview "Data Catalog" is very recently renamed into "Unified Catalog". Seems there is no end to all this renaming. Microsoft, please, have pity on people who create training material 😰

I don't really agree. Kusto is not declarative. I did a PhD in declarative programming languages, but even then I really love the non-declarative aspects of Kusto.
And if you put "explain" in front of a SQL query, ADX will show you the Kusto query equivalent:

Updating the U2U Purview class with the new portal. I understand the need to update interfaces, but as a trainer who needs to keep the training material updated, I really hope a LLM in the near future can update all my slides and labs 😉

10 years ago we were foster family for a golden retriever for 18 months, till he became an assistance dog for wheelchair users. But after many years of faithful service, the dog now retired back into the family. Crazy how the dog still recognizes me after 8 years!

Yesterday, part of the #sqlfamily was enjoying a nice evening in the city center of Mechelen. Lots of chatting, joking (and a bit of food and drinks).
It doesn't make the news, but most happy things don't make the news. They have an awful bias...
