Great picks, Opabinia has been one of my favorites since I was a kid, and I always love a “tiny spiky worm that fuels furious debate for decades”. For me, as mentioned Opabinia always gets a spot on my list, and I’ve recently been getting into Luolishaniids. Lobopodians in general are pretty cool.
A reconstruction of Ovatiovermis cribatus (a luolishaniid), a segmented worm with long lobopods, gripping onto the top of a sponge. It is arching its trunk upwards, its forward frilly lobopods extended into the water stream to filter feed.

Ah, getting into trepanation I see…
A bizarre comic in Dutch, showing a hole getting punched in a slightly anthropomorphized snail’s shell, allowing the snail to leave the shell and lead a good life, I think? It was created by Eveline Lucia van Dijk, wife of Bart Huges, survivor of the world’s first self-trepanation, which he advocated for as a way of achieving a permanent high. This comic is a metaphor for the benefits of trepanation. Yes, exactly! Those are the most known examples, and certainly the ones with the highest degree of limb minimization. The figure below shows the two “ecomorphs” (sry, not morphotypes) described in an excellent paper (cited in alt text). Caecilians are the burrowing type, for example.

Mm, the classic hardwood models of crystal forms found in mineralogy classrooms do have an air of the esoteric to them. The crystal structures and related but distinct crystal growth forms are already a decently complex organizational system… there’s definitely something to this.
A display of wooden models of the many shapes crystals can grow in, used as a teaching aid in mineralogy. They are intricate and precise.

As a human species, our seal game has been dropping off hard since the end of the Mature Harappan phase. Look at these bad boys!
A beautifully carved seal, showing a somewhat stylized but intricate Zebu bull, facing left. Above it is what appears to be 5-6 written characters. A partially broken seal showing a complicated and mostly symmetrical scene. Front and center sits a figure facing the viewer, apparently cross legged, on a sort of low platform.
