That people with obscene wealth will never be held to account.

Agree SM would be a positive step, but full readmission may be something the EU is cautious about - they’d presumably want a sufficient shift in public opinion to buffer against an incoming government having yet another referendum. I’d have us back in in a heartbeat, but I think it’s a long game.

And when do we switch from “wealth creators” to “wealth hoarders”?
November 27, 2025 at 8:36 AM
The current iteration of the Labour Party is a complete betrayal of its erstwhile principles and people - like me - who voted for them consistently. I held my nose at the last election and voted labour in a marginal constituency to help unseat the incumbent Tory. Don’t think I can do that again.

But not taxing the obscene wealth hoarders is absolutely fine. A government with no moral compass and an absolute insult to the traditions of the party it claims to be.

I thought Starmer’s pronouns were he/him. If I’m wrong I’ll apologise.

This version of the labour party is repugnant.

It’s utterly horrific. Up is down. Down is up. East Asia has always been the enemy.

Don’t want to contribute equitably? Hope the door doesn’t hit them on the arse on the way out.

Oh for goodness sake, he’s the gift that just keeps giving 🙄 I’m presuming this new nonsense won’t be accompanied by realigning our trade ambitions with our nearest and largest market.

Robbing from the poor to feed the insatiable appetites of the obscenely rich. What a hideous government this is.

It’s about the chance to change the dialogue which has been missed. We are never going to be able to just walk back in - the member states have to be convinced we are serious first, and then they need to decide if we’re worth the distraction of renegotiation.
December 8, 2024 at 9:03 AM
It will be too late. If he didn’t identify it as a root cause of the mess at the beginning of his administration it will just be dismissed as desperate finger pointing when it comes to the end of it.

He had a narrow window of opportunity after the election to be the rational adult in the room and call out Brexit as the disaster it is. He didn’t take it. We will all come to bitterly regret that.

I can’t watch Question Time since it became the Farage hour. People like this man give me hope that despite the schedulers and chair constantly curating a right wing outrage bias, it may yet return to sense.
December 6, 2024 at 10:37 AM
Does he really think the EU has an appetite for more British whining and tinkering? That we left was a tragedy, that we continue to think we can reset & renegotiate is even worse. He had a chance after the election to talk sense about brexit. We’ve ended up with more of May’s red line nonsense.

Labelling is a barrier to empathic response/equity in access to support/treatment/reasonable adjustment. Variance is more balanced than ‘disorder’ which risks introducing an element of bias/judgement. Movement away from disorder (with consultation with people with lived experience) is a + for me.
