Found in the yard. I assume the authority is transferrable with the badge.

Gee, it's almost like not wanting to pay the local property taxes in a community, while still wanting to access their services, the largest of which is schools... 🤔

Fresh snow & longer days totally threw off my sense of time & season this evening - 8pm April looks like 3pm February.

Me waking up to new snow: "Oh, this again."

Me waking up every day in 2025: "Oh, this again."

Then I went to the Anchorage Delegation Town Hall, where hundreds of Anchorage constituents are showing up to advocate for education & a future for our state.
Happening now till 4pm @ UAA Cuddy Hall!

"What did you do this Saturday?"
I showed up, stood & marched with my neighbors, and exercised my 1A rights in Downtown Anchorage.

Amazing turnout - thousands lined the streets, all ages, lots of support from honking cars. We The People are angry, and they demand action.

There are many ways to vote in the Anchorage election: mail your ballot, vote in person, or use a secure drop box (with or without this handy extendo-grabber thing to help!)

Want to extend your reach? Remind friends & family: VOTE by 8pm Tues, April 1!

Qs? muni.org/elections or 907-243-VOTE (8683)

Some of the Emergency No Parking signs. One says "Special event, DDOT Contract"

Here's a question: who is going to pay for this, is it federal money? DC locals?
There was a whole crew at work, a lot of labor over several days. Won't be cheap.

Removal of DC's Black Lives Matter plaza began Monday morning - here's how much work happened by Tuesday evening (1 side of 1 block). Some sections, unpainted, were kept in place.
At this rate, it will take well over a week to finish. The "special event, no parking" permit signs say thru 3/29.

Stopped by to visit the Samuel Gompers memorial. Uphold institutions & labor associations, indeed.

I've always really appreciated the Preamble: the Constitution is the rules, this is the why.
Look at the hope & intent for people to have good lives.

As a kid I learned a song to remember this, which is why I still do.
We learned it in public school.
Public education is nation building.

Good article. Equally or more true if these qualifier words are deleted. Media should make known & anticipated impacts of federal firings crystal clear, not sound speculative.

Here is what's at stake for health care, gutting Medicaid:
3 out of 8 Alaska kids
1 out of 5 Alaska adults
7 of 8 nursing home patients

And if all these people lose care, which would happen with massive cuts, we all lose quality health care in a very real way. You can't just unplug this system.

Things are tough all over for renters, but we are near the top. The evidence base continues to grow re: price and supply, we're years behind at this point.
