4️⃣ Support nonprofits that've been pivotal in advancing civil rights and protecting American democracy.

From the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to Voting Rights Act of 1965, Brown v. Board of Education, Roe v. Wade and much more — without pro-freedom non-profits, we wouldn't have the rights we do today.

3️⃣ Demand accountability. Trump and his allies will test their limits.

Pressuring your Senators and Representative matters, even if they support Trump: write them, call them, join town halls.

Show elected officials that their job is to serve the people, not to serve one man’s anti-freedom agenda.

2️⃣ Take action locally. In Hungary, cities became resistance hubs. Local action can be a key part of defending democracy.

Support candidates/elected officials who will stand against Trump's overreach:

• Governor, AG, other statewide positions
• State Legislature
• City Council
• School Board

So, what can we do?

1️⃣ Stay informed. Orbán relied on disinformation to hide his power grabs.

Support independent outlets (@propublica.org is a great one) and amplify factual reporting.

Push back on lies. Whether it’s Trump’s fraud claims or attacks on free speech, truth is resistance.
