And we move on with no acknowledgement from the committee that their report was misconceived and failed. Unlike you I think the exam boards and others rescued the exam.

The recommendations of the curriculum review and DfE response are for first teaching in 2028. So we hopefully have time to get it right!

Such a shame. But what do you when the supply of students has dwindled so much? In 1995 roughly 29k students did A-level French, now it’s under 7k. www.bstubbs.co.uk/a-lev.htm#F

I see that the ALL, in their response to the review, are concerned about the Ebacc recommendation.

We used to use it for Y8s (just listening and reading). I can’t recall how burdensome it was.

Yes. It’s in a different document. I hope they pursue the idea. But if it carries no accountability value it could wither like Asset Languages. Needs commitment, money or a private partner maybe?
