if you haven't seen The Witch Upstairs yet btw there is a joke where someone drives a vehicle into the distance and then crashes it into the skybox, causing the background to fall out of bounds

Mermaid's Blood's world is separated into four seas. I purposefully named them very generically (Northern Sea, Southern Sea, ect.) because the main story is set in a cave secluded from them. They're all tyrannical monarchies that pushed the Chimaera Pirates into becoming pirates one way or another.

Muerpientes don't have a conscience. They kill because, to them, it's a form of getting high. In the book, I compare it to dolphins playing with puffer fish.
