In December, I decided it's about time I learned to knit! So, after a couple of swatches to learn, I decided my first project was going to be a nice big cozy scarf. So 161 stitches casted on and 14.5 rows done! I think it's coming along pretty nicely!

A cat loafed behind a cone of white yarn, 2 small balls of blue, and a big ball of pink. The pink ball is attached to a knitting project on two kneedles, about 1.5in of a scarf knit in the Seersucker stitch.

Another reason I love the Turkish cross armed drop spindle, plying as I spin this gorgeous light blue wool that was gifted to me! This will be my second ball using this technique and I'm hooked!

A Turkish cross arm spindle with blue wool. 3 ply yarn on wound on the cross arms of the spindle while single ply is wound in a temporary cop around the shaft of the spindle, and a length of fluffy light blue wool combed top drapes from where it's attached to the single ply at the top of the spindle.
