I was a fan of standalone FF games already, and I’d purchased FFXIV shortly after ShB release out of curiosity re: all the positive hype. However I never actually signed up & played until a bit before EW release, when a streamer I watched jumped back into it for EW prep and got me curious again.
So to those in the FFXIV community, what or who got you into the game and for how long have you been playing?

Tried spending today cleaning up almost-done WIPs instead of starting new ones, but ended just up getting frustrated at them all over again, oops
Baby steps though…and I think I have at least defeated the 5-head enough for this one that it won’t look so awkward in game now 🤞🏻

Luxiere came to Gridania from Ishgard, so no carriage ride for him — he rode & walked from the north. He also didn’t join the adventurer’s guild because he specifically went there to visit the conjurer’s guild (well, to ask after a young girl with horns, so he was naturally directed to the padjal).

Estin is 88! At one point I thought about dropping his starting age from 83 to 53, because the WoL is pretty naïve in ARR and he should maybe be a bit younger. But I stuck with the older age because I like how it plays with viera isolationism and complacency.

Pre-DT pic b/c she’s a retired OC, but Ruka was half elezen and half au ra. Biological incompatibilities meant she was a miracle baby, but she was also extremely immunocompromised and frequently very ill.
