I think about this a lot. One day she was on the streets of Macedonia, the next she's a spoiled brat getting tucked in to bed in the UK. She obvs doesn't have any concept of rescue so I wonder how she thinks she ended up here. Or maybe she's too busy snoozing to care 🤷

Or sausages. Or bacon.

LOL definitely refuting the pathetic little man baby label there, well done!

Both of these examples are the fault of the humans not the dog. In fact, most likely, the dog is as much a victim here as the people having to listen to them bark.

a) fireworks upset a LOT more than just dogs b) no humans die from dogs yapping, whereas many dogs die every year from fireworks

Yep cos your 'very bad cold' was probably COVID.

The locking jaw thing is a total myth. As is 'natural aggression' but the jaw thing is scientifically verifiable.

What if it's not about the owners but about the animals? Not just dogs, all animals, who suffer and die every year so people can ooh and ahh like neanderthals.

No human ever died from dog barking. Many dogs (and other animals) die every year from fireworks.

Or someone with a disability which means they can't get to the door quickly. Or an elderly person living alone who wants to check who's there before answering the door. Or someone who lives in a high crime neighbourhood wanting to protect their property. 🙄

We thought she looked like a raccoon which is how we chose her name...it apparently means 'wise raccoon'.

Mika from Macedonia sometimes nopes on her walk if the weather is not to her liking. I think she feels she's done her time on the streets and now she has discovered beds and central heating, she'd rather stick with them, thanks.

No-one told Bert he's old either. Apart from some vestibular type episodes and not seeing or hearing quite as well as he once did, he's in fine fettle. Still very much a terrier!

Agree. Bertie is 15 and has only gotten more gorgeous IMHO.

Yay another pigeon fan! Hello from Sashi, one of the best turned out pigeons in my little rescue.

That's one way of seeing it, I guess. Personally, I'm not a fan of thinking of living creatures as possessions.

But I didn't buy it. So the buy it/own it rule doesn't apply.
