So Rey Dau may just be one of the best designed monsters in the series if not the best.
Honestly if it weren’t for my personal bias for my favorite monsters and the fact that Rey is still so new, Rey Dau would probably be my number 1 monster right now.

I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t have a preference for Diablos or Monoblos. I they’re there both amazing but so connected that I can’t really put one above the other
But anyways. Monoblos has a 10/10 fight in every game and his design is such a perfect blend of——

Best piscene wyvern, and that’s coming g from someone who really likes most of them (except Lavasioth)
He has such a sharp and edgy design but it dosent feel overdone or nonsensical since it fits the animal it’s based on. Plus I have to praise the effects on his fight——

I think he’s pretty neat. Probably my least favorite of the three lords. I don’t think the gathering of qurio quest is as amazing as everyone says but it’s still great.
His scales look weirdly metallic and robotic which probably was intentional but I don’t really like it, especially the tail——

So now we go onto the bird endemic life and while they all look way more "normal" bird like. they all have the very clear sign of being wyverns, which is the wing claw. I'm now gonna show all of them to prove this.

Normally in birds their "wing fingers" aren't visible as they are covered in feathering. however for bird wyverns the finger/claw is clearly visible
This is most apparent in Qurupeco and Malfestio who despite being way more bird like have very obvious wing fingers/claws

Before 5th gen the only "bird" we fully knew were bird wyverns. all other birds were very low poly or were just background entities

My biggest pet peeve with mh’s world is just how common every monster seems to be. I get it for things like Deviljho and Bazel but like does Glavenus really need to be in this many areas. He’d be way cooler if he was only found in the Jurassic frontier imo
