An aging GenX science professor, husband, and dad of teens.
I got my yearly atypical pneumonia, but caught early enough to not have to be admitted. Ironically, I caught it early because I started coughing up blood. On the downside, the CT showed a possible solid mass on my trachea. Gotta wait to retest after lungs clear.

Ten and a half years, that is all we will get with our dog Lena. We thought we caught the sarcoma early, grade 1, but we were wrong, now there are tumors throughout her lymphatic system. She is still playful, so we are waiting for when the bad days out number the good.

One of the things I got from my mother moving through out my childhood wasn't the resiliency she touted, but rather the inability to connect names to faces, because every relationship ended in too short of a time to bother. I swear I remember about five people from all of high school.

So far this month I have successfully disassembled, fixed, and reassembled our dryer. I have also fixed a mirror on my wife's car for $100 and fifteen minutes, when the dealership quoted $1300.

"I can't do the math on the chem exam fast enough."
"Did you work through the practice homework?"
"YES, of course I did."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, are you calling me a liar."
"No, I'm just saying that the homework wasn't loading for anyone until about an hour ago due to an error."

I love my #Subaru cars, but sometimes their repair estimates are ridiculous. My wife's passenger mirror got busted. The repair estimate was $1300 with no salvagable parts. I looked at it and was able to repair it for $50 for the mirror glass and a cooling, all the other parts worked fine.

I am stupidly happy that I was able to successfully disassemble our dryer, diagnose a blown fuse, replace it, and reassemble the dryer.

I'm feeling nostalgic today. My mom moved us constantly during my high school (5 total). That means I was always the new kid. I hated it, even though my mom said it made me resilient. I always wonder what it would have been like to stay at just one school. I would have chose #Dover.

The other day I was sitting in the med lab, waiting to get a blood draw. This lady was in there and very saucy about not being done yet. She was swearing every other word (fuck this and fuck that). I politely asked her if she could stop swearing... man she went ballistic. Security had to be called.

You know it is perfectly fine to expect consequences for both Trump and Clinton if the files show that they committed criminal acts.
Trump on Epstein: "You ought to be speaking about Larry Summers. You ought to be speaking about Bill Clinton who went to the island 28 times. I never went to the island."

Now, the Orange in Chief is tackling such issues of pressing national interest as getting the Washington Commanders to change their name back to the #Redskins.... good lord we are living in #idiocracy

I know it is barely visible to other people, but I can feel the fracture in my chin. It is just sheared a little off from normal, but man, it bugs me. The plastic surgeon said it would be more trouble than it was worth to fix it.

Little known side effect to hot flashes, you have to scream to hear each other over the fans.

I fell face first onto concrete. I broke a mental protubrence in my chin and broke halfway through the elbow side of my ulna. Both breaks were not displaced, so they should heal. However, I also damaged a tendon in my elbow, which causes pain in my forearm. They say it could take 18 months to heal.

Tis the season of graduation parties. If your kid is graduating, you have a lot of other parties to attend. We have three parties to attend today.

I hit my head on concrete hard enough to fracture my chin. Now, I am waiting to see if the CT scan shows I need a plate in my chin. Fracturing my chin was not on my bones to break bingo card. #brokenbone

A long way from the reliability and reusability needed to put a person in it.
SpaceX Starship 9 is now officially debris. The camera feed didn't even make it to reentry. Elon Musk has failed again.

Because we know that those in the right always wear masks. /s
Why is ICE wearing masks? What are they hiding?

The Mayor of Newark was arrested at an ICE facility—when elected officials showed up, masked agents roughed them up, including an 80-year-old congresswoman. Why?!

Fun fact, when Lincoln did it, he was rebuked by the Supreme Court.
We are not under invasion.

There is no justification for suspending our constitutional rights.

Every single American should speak out against this, loudly and forcefully.
Stephen Miller: "The writ of habeas corpus can be suspended in a time of invasion. So I would say that's an option we're actively looking at."
