Dying to the cold if you have the option to not is a chump move. Layering is your friend.
Dressing for the Cold - Infographic. Adding layers will help keep you warm as the temperature drops. Chilly: 1-2 layers; outer layer to keep out wind, rain; long layer on legs; warm shoes (water proof). Cold: 2-3 layers; warm hat; gloves; outer layer to keep out wind, wet snow; 1-2 long layers on legs; boots (water-proof). Extreme cold: 3+ layers (1 insulating); warm hat; gloves; outer layer to keep out wind; 2+ long layers on legs; boots (water proof).

Boatsnack (my Rooster) and the Murder Madams (my hens) have enjoyed a head of cabbage today as a Christmas Eve feast. (Yes, Boatsnack is named after Hei Hei the chicken from Moana , not because I name my livestock but because he is That Way.)
There is a black and white barred rooster with a bright red comb in profile view. One eye is towards the camera. He looks suspicious. There is half a head of cabbage in the foreground hanging from a dowel. There are a few bits of barred hens to the side.

Don't have a lot, but my current five cats and the ones who came before would appreciate other cats having their opportunities.
